FAQs & Fees

How will I know if we are a good ‘fit’?

I believe that for counselling to be truly beneficial you need to find a counsellor who you feel safe and comfortable with. I offer a free 20 minute session on the phone or via zoom where we can discuss what you would like to achieve from our work together and I can explain a little bit about how I work.

How much do sessions cost?

My fees for a 50 minute session are £55, payable in advance by BACS

Where will the sessions take place?

If we are working face to face the sessions will take place in my private therapy room in in Goudhurst, Kent. There is plenty of parking, however there are steps to the house which means it is not accessible by wheelchair.

How does online counselling work?

If you would prefer to work remotely I will send you a link to join me on zoom 2 hours before the session is due to start. If there are any problems with the connection I will call you and we can continue the session via telephone or reschedule. I am also trained in telephone counselling if that is your preference.

What happens if I have to cancel?

I understand that life is messy and people get sick so do try to be as flexible as possible when rescheduling sessions. I do have a 24 cancellation policy and if you give 24 hours notice before your session there is no charge. However, anything less than 24 hours the session fee will be charged in full.

How many sessions do I have to sign up for?

This is entirely up to you, there is no commitment to have a certain number of sessions however, I would recommend committing to at least 6 to begin with.

How often do we meet?

I find that generally weekly works best and it will be the same day and time every week. However, due to work commitments or finances I recognise that fortnightly may work better for some people.

Is what we talk about confidential?

Yes, however as with all counselling there are some exceptions to this which I will explain fully when we go through our counselling contract together.
